Poole Knobs Recreation Area is located near the end of Jones Mill Road in La Vergne. Visitors, especially children, will be awestruck by the variety of wildlife found here, including raccoons, birds, squirrels, and others. There are picnic shelters in the area, and there is also a boat launch ramp. There are 87 overnight campsites as well as a camping ground.

Also found on J. Percy Priest Lake right next to Stones River Road, Hurricane Creek offers plenty of animals to see within its walking trails. Other interesting activities include a ramp, boat dock, fishing and walking trails.
